Time to sink your teeth in and enjoy the buffalo tofu wings, hot out the oven, baked crispy and delicious, with an added creamy dipping sauce. Party favorites as appetizers or even a finger food style dinner. Made perfect for vegan appetites.
Prep Time: 10 mins – Cook Time: 40 mins
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb of super firm or extra firm tofu
6 tbsp of cornstarch, arrowroot, or tapioca starch
1/4 cup of plant based milk
To serve – Vegan bleu cheese or ranch style dressing, romaine, sweet peppers, croutons, avocado for salad

Bread Crumb Mixture
1 cup of panko style bread crumbs
2 tbsp of olive oil
1/2 tsp of paprika
1/2 tsp of salt
1 tbsp of fresh minced parsley
freshly ground black pepper

Buffalo Sauce
6 tbsp of red cayenne pepper hot sauce
3 tbsp of vegan butter
1/8 tsp of granulated garlic
1/8 tsp of salt
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Have the oven preheated to 425 ºF, lightly grease a large rimmed baking sheet
2. If you are using the extra firm tofu, then you must press out the extra water
3. Slice the tofu into 6 width-wise slabs and wrap it in a lint free towel or even paper towel
4. You might have to place weights over the wrapped tofu, then let it drain for approximately 20 to 30 minutes prior to continuing
INSTRUCTIONS:
5. The tofu should be cut into 18 ‘wings’ or 1/2″ sticks. Cut the tofu into 6 slices width-wise, then slice each of the 6 pieces into 3 slices length-wise.
6. Add the cornstarch (arrowroot/tapioca starch) into a bowl
7. In another bowl, add the plant based milk
8. In a third bowl mix the bread crumbs ingredients together, then place some unto a plate
INSTRUCTIONS:
9. Each tofu ‘wing’ should then be individaully dipped into the starch, then the milk, then covered in the bread crumbs on the plate
10. Place each ‘wing’ on the prepared baking sheet, repeat step 9 and 10 for each ‘wing’
Note: You should use one hand for the starch and bread crumbs and the other hand for the milk, so that the breading doesn’t become to clumpy. Add more bread crumbs mixture to the plate as required.
11. Place the breaded tofu in the oven and bake for 25 minutes at 425 ºF
12. Flip each tofu ‘wing’ and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes or until the wings are crispy
INSTRUCTIONS:
13. Start preparing the buffalo sauce as the ‘wings’ are baking. Melt the vegan butter and stir it into the hot sauce, add the granulated garlic and salt
14. Once the ‘wings’ are ready, place them into a mixing bowl and toss with the buffalo sauce until each is coated
15. Serve Immediately
