Yes, we think these are the perfect Halloween treat. But honestly, they can be made any time of year! There is something about the vanilla pudding mixed with the cream cheese that makes a delightful experience after it’s been chilled. If you want to make this applicable to all times a year, forgo making the “graveyard” cookies and just crumble some on top!

Ingredients

  • 18 ounces pkg. chocolate sandwich cookies, divided
  • 8 ounces package cream cheese, softened
  • 3.4 ounces package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 ounces container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • Garnish: candy pumpkins

Directions

Instructions Checklist
  1. Set aside 6 to 7 cookies for garnish; crush remaining cookies.
  2. Spread 1/4 of crushed cookies in the bottom of a lightly greased 13″ x 9″ glass baking pan; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, whip cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium speed.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together dry pudding mix and milk for 2 minutes, or until thickened; add to cream cheese along with powdered sugar and whipped topping. Beat until well blended.
  5. Spoon a layer of cream cheese mixture over cookies; add another layer of crushed cookies and another layer of cream cheese mixture. Repeat once more, for a total of 3 layers.
  6. Slice sides off reserved cookies and arrange on top. Add candy pumpkins.
  7. Cover and chill for 2 hours before serving. Keep refrigerated.
